About James C. Napoli

James C. Napoli is a founding member of the law firm of Caesar & Napoli After graduating from law school, he joined an insurance firm specializing in insurance analysis, personal injury defense and trial work. He quickly distinguished himself as a superior trial lawyer, and he was named a partner after six years with the firm. Having lifelong ties to downtown New York City, as well as a strong desire to represent injured victims, Mr. Napoli started his own personal injury firm in 1989. Caesar & Napoli represents injured persons in the following types of cases:

  • Construction Accidents
  • Tractor Trailer Accidents
  • Wrongful Death
  • Automobile Accidents
  • Defective Products
  • Medical Negligence
  • Defective Roadways

Mr. Napoli’s reputation as an impressive lawyer in the courtroom has resulted in significant recoveries. Over the years, Caesar & Napoli has recovered numerous seven and eight figure verdicts and settlements for our clients.

Mr. Napoli stresses the importance of maintaining open and transparent communication with his clients to best serve their needs, as well as sparing no expense in case discovery. Rather than working with insurance companies on a claims basis, Mr. Napoli has found that the best results arise from fully preparing each case for trial. Even if the client chooses to settle, diligent preparation often significantly raises the settlement figure by demonstrating the full value of the case to the insurance company.

Mr. Napoli is admitted to practice before all of the Courts of the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Napoli has acted as special counsel for Covenant House of New York City, a non-profit organization assisting homeless children, and he has served on the boards of numerous non-profit associations. Mr. Napoli represented, pro bono, victims of the World Trade Center disaster as well as injured rescuers. For the last six years straight, Mr. Napoli has been named as a “Top Rated Personal Injury Attorney” by Super Lawyers, an organization that honors the top five percent of attorneys as ranked by their peers in New York State.

Mr. Napoli is active in the legal community on both the state and national level. He is a Presidential Member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, a Sustaining Member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and a member of the Bar of the City of New York. He also is on the board of directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Napoli often writes guest columns for local newspapers reporting on legal news.

How Napoli Works With Clients

Caesar & Napoli is a plaintiffs’ firm. It represents injured people and their families, and does not act for insurance companies or large corporations. That shapes how a case is handled from the first phone call onward.

  • You speak with an attorney. Clients deal directly with the attorneys handling their case rather than being routed to a claims desk.
  • Cases are prepared as though they will be tried. Preparation is what gives a case its value in negotiation, even when it ultimately settles.
  • Investigation starts early. Evidence at an accident scene, and records held by other parties, have a way of disappearing while people wait.
  • Consultations are free. There is no charge for an initial conversation about your situation.
  • Most cases are handled on a no-win, no-fee basis. Attorney’s fees are owed only if there is a recovery.
  • The firm works in English and Russian.

What Happens After You Get in Touch

The first conversation is about understanding what happened and what you are dealing with now. From there the firm looks at who may be responsible, what deadlines apply to your situation, and what records need to be gathered before they become harder to obtain. Deadlines in New York vary considerably depending on who is at fault. Claims involving a city agency or other public entity can require written notice within 90 days, far sooner than the general injury deadline, which is one reason an early review is worth having.

Areas Served

The firm represents injured people across New York City, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island, from its office in Lower Manhattan.
